Then we pause. And know that it is totally ok. Sometimes clutter is emotional, especially when it’s tied to loss, identity, or big transitions. There is zero shame here. I’ll bring tissues and compassion.

FAQs Archive - Rework The Room

Q: Will you organize my entire life, too?

Not officially… but clients have told me their brains feel calmer, their mornings smoother, and their kids get dressed faster. So maybe a little!

Q: Do I have to get rid of my kids’ artwork / books / reusable totes?

Only if you want to. I’ll never force you to part with anything, but I will help you find a way to store it so it’s not taking over your dining table.

Q: Can we chat while we work?

Of course, if you’re up for it. I’m a former journalist, so I’m great at talking and listening while folding ten years’ worth of baby clothes.

Q: Will you judge my chaos?

Never. I’ve seen it all — the junk drawers, the rogue Tupperware lids, the three-year-old birthday party supplies. Your “mess” is just real life, and I respect it.

Q: Will you make me throw everything away?

This isn’t about minimalism unless you want it to be. We’ll work together to make thoughtful choices about what stays, what goes, and what serves you best at this point in your life. Q: Do you bring supplies?

I’ll bring basic organizing tools (measuring tape, labels, trash bags) and if we agree to source specific products for your space, I’ll handle all of that too.

Q: Do I need to be there while you organize?

Not always - it depends on the project. Some parts (like editing your belongings) are collaborative. Others (like categorizing and setting up systems) I can handle solo. We’ll decide together what feels best.

Q: What’s included in the service?

When you work with me, you get: An initial phone call to talk through your goals and pain points An in-home consultation to map out a plan and confirm your booking Decluttering support, at your pace, with no judgment Shopping (optional!) for functional and beautiful storage solutions A completely custom organizing system that’s easy to maintain Removal of donation items to local charities Follow-up check-ins to see how things are going

Q: How much do you charge?

My hourly rate is $100. Most sessions are between 4-8 hours, with six hours often being the sweet spot. For larger projects, we can work through your home area by area, with the flexibility to book as much or as little time as you need. Donation removal and labels are included, and I’ll always work with what you already have before recommending new storage.
